REMAKE’24 Youth Camp: Journey of Transformation and Renewal

October 18, 2024

← Back to Parish News

The Salem Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam’s REMAKE’24 Youth Camp, held from October 11th to 13th, 2024, in the scenic Nilgiri hills of Coonoor, was a weekend of spiritual renewal and fellowship. Themed “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind”, the camp aimed to inspire youth towards personal and spiritual transformation through worship, engaging sessions, and meaningful activities.

Friday, October 11th: The Journey Begins The camp started with a night journey from Ernakulam at 10:30 PM, with eager participants excited for what lay ahead. The adventure officially began when the group arrived in Coonoor early Saturday morning, greeted by the cool mountain air and the welcoming atmosphere of the Nilgiri Mar Thoma Camp Centre.

Saturday, October 12th: A Day of Growth Saturday morning started with a hearty breakfast, followed by worship and an inspiring inauguration ceremony led by Rev. Bobby Philip. The youth engaged in singing sessions and an icebreaker to kick-start the day. The highlight of the morning was the first Power Talk by Rev. John K. Jacob, a missionary from Manthralaya Mar Thoma Mission, whose insightful message resonated deeply with the participants. The afternoon was filled with interactive sessions, including a plenary discussion titled “Seeking the Truth,” along with more singing and worship. A fun-filled games session in the evening brought out the energy and competitive spirit of the youth, further strengthening bonds. The day concluded with a Bible study led by Rev. Jabin Daniel and a lively talent show that showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants.

Sunday, October 13th: Sacred Reflection Sunday was the spiritual culmination of the camp, beginning with an early morning Holy Communion service led by Rev. Bobby Philip and Rev. Jabin Daniel. It was a time for deep reflection, as participants came together in worship to honor Christ’s sacrifice. Following the service, participants shared their feedback and reflections on the camp, expressing how the sessions impacted their personal faith journeys. The camp ended with a photo session and a final exploration of the beautiful Nilgiri hills, leaving everyone with lasting memories of a spiritually enriching weekend.

A Weekend to Remember REMAKE’24 was a resounding success, providing the youth with opportunities for fellowship, worship, and fun. The camp’s theme, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” served as a powerful reminder that personal and spiritual growth is a continuous journey. The Salem Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam extends heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, organizers, senior friends and participants for their support and enthusiasm.
